I Will Fly

by Anthony Hartill

One day, I will fly
Rise up into the sky
My wings are forming
The lattice bones spread out
The feather blades in line
My hands are talons
Gripped upon the branch
My beak opens
Clawks out bird call
One flap and another
Rise rise into the sky
And in the evening
All the other birds
Circling in the sky
So, why oh why
Tell me why
Why will I never fly

Anthony Hartill is lost in the woods.
