Lapis Lazuli Eyes

by Damian Noszkowicz

Under the brightest moonlight, hopes can mend
With a touch that erases all the dangling lies,
I am brave enough to grab your hand
And bask in your lapis lazuli eyes.

From earliest breakfasts to curtain calls
A gentle embrace is the highest prize,
From first spring showers till last snow falls
I bask in your lapis lazuli eyes.

At times in my dreams, you disappear
And losing you sounds like a tragic demise.
Saddest visions go away when you are near
And I can bask in your lapis lazuli eyes.

The world ceases to exist when ours collide,
No signs mock me with my lover by my side.
