My Body is Not Yours Too

by Rachael Almeida

My body is mine alone
What you want is not important
No, it is not for your future
I am not your sow
I am not yours to control
Your interpretation of God does not matter to my body
My God knows this is a shared temple
My God knows the rage in me
The rage that you think you can have a say in my body
My body is not yours
Your desires mean nothing
Why do I need your permission
To alter what is mine and only mine?
Why do your beliefs come before my autonomy?
My body is not a tool for your agendas
My body is not a political statement
My body is simply mine
My body is mine and mine alone.
