In the End, We Breathe
by Meg Taylor
In the end, we just want to breathe,
To find the peace in what we believe.
To walk a path that feels our own,
Not chasing a title, not chasing the throne.
The climb is steep, the race is long,
But the music plays a quieter song.
We rush to the top, but what’s the cost,
When we forget what’s found, and what’s lost?
In the boardrooms, we make our stand,
Hoping our voices will take command.
The men shout loud, the women smile,
Both pushing forward, mile by mile.
But somewhere between the noise and strife,
We miss the rhythm of a simpler life.
We forget that the journey, not the goal,
Is where we find what makes us whole.
We climb the ladder, we chase the dream,
Blinded by the sparkle of what we deem.
But in the end, it’s not the fight,
It’s the quiet moments, soft and light.
So, we seek the top, we push, we strive,
But it's the journey where we come alive.
For in the end, the truth is clear--
Success is found when we just appear.
