We’re getting near the sun.
I’ve fallen and been down
but I am here. Getting near.
Leaves echo to the ground,
and when I look around
the world is emptying tears,
but flowers are blooming
in our vase, and below
the kitchen window
there’s a faint trace
of sunlight that our eyes
follow to the home
where all truth lies.
