Puppy Dog Eyes
by Sheldon Hubbard
My furry friend has laid their head
down to rest, just past the dawn of seven.
Frying the frays at the end of my threads,
following their gaze all the way to heaven.
Ocean waves lapping the lids of my eyes.
Soaking the morning in saltine cries,
because my dearest friend has died.
Puppy dog eyes now twinkling from heaven.
down to rest, just past the dawn of seven.
Frying the frays at the end of my threads,
following their gaze all the way to heaven.
Ocean waves lapping the lids of my eyes.
Soaking the morning in saltine cries,
because my dearest friend has died.
Puppy dog eyes now twinkling from heaven.
