Sea breeze
by Sean Robertson
The hollow vessel floats on the sand
Never again will it see blue horizon
Dormant, it lies, surrounded by land
Until us lads breathe in life again
We'll scrub the scum from the sides
Fit her with sails and rudder
We'll take her out to mighty tides
And sail, as brothers, forever
Ten years on she sits, still broken
The vast reaches left unexplored
Seabreeze remains a childhood token
Of promises we have ignored
Never again will it see blue horizon
Dormant, it lies, surrounded by land
Until us lads breathe in life again
We'll scrub the scum from the sides
Fit her with sails and rudder
We'll take her out to mighty tides
And sail, as brothers, forever
Ten years on she sits, still broken
The vast reaches left unexplored
Seabreeze remains a childhood token
Of promises we have ignored
